Several weeks ago after I’d turned in my edits, followed by copy edits, I learned that my second book in my Cold Case series would be available for preorder and that the book would go “live” on May 31, 2022. That day has arrived. Since then, I’ve been working on book three, I’ve written several guest post blogs, and I’ve sat on a few proverbial pins and needles.
Release date doesn’t mean the story is done. On the contrary, it means something far more significant. It means that on this day readers get to decide if the long hours and months that I’ve worked to develop a story have met–or failed–to meet with their approval. That’s a heady challenge for any author.
I can write the book, but ultimately the readers decide. The readers bring their knowledge, their likes and dislikes, and their understanding of the topic. Because it’s their hard-earned money they’ve invested, and once my story is released, my story becomes their book.
Thank you, readers, for giving us authors this opportunity. Storytelling is something I live for. Now it’s your turn to decide if the book has merit. Now on to book three.
Happy reading!
Donnell
