As the U.S. prepares for the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s so easy for me to take part. I have so much to be grateful for. I lost a dear friend last week, Author Dianne Drake passed away, and yet as sad as her death made me, I had the opportunity to know her, to learn from her and to laugh with her. http://dianne-drake.com/
I’m grateful for my friends and my family. They complete me as a human being, and I’m grateful for my love of writing and to my readers. I read a saying once that said “I write to know what I think.” Truer words were never spoken, particularly in my case.
I’m grateful I’m connected enough that I had the opportunity to attend an Anne Hillerman presentation two days ago, and got to meet my New Mexico author/neighbor and fellow Sisters in Crime, Croak & Dagger member. https://annehillerman.com/ I bought book one of her series while she promoted her new book in the series, The Tale Teller.
Next, I attended a reception for the author and met some of my neighbors. One is Cheryl Fallstead, who plays a mean Ukulele, and is also the editor/ publisher of Neighbors Magazine, a publication that explores the neighborhoods of Southwest New Mexico.
It’s so easy to be grateful when I share a passerby’s smile and I still have my mom. How can I not be grateful when I get to enjoy the fabulous New Mexico sunsets.
Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.
