So sorry, I’ve been busy again. Left Las Cruces on July 5th and returned on August 12th. Commitments in Colorado, a trip to New York for the 2019 RWA National Convention. By August 12th, I was so ready to get home, I almost hoped moss would grow on me.
The good news is during this time, I finished my copy edits and now await proofs, and should have a new book out before year’s end.
And oh, yeah, I tried something else. I have two books on Audible for The Past Came Hunting and Deadly Recall. I confess I’ve never listened to them all the way through. Why? Because I know how I meant the characters to speak, and the bigger truth is, these books are my babies, and I’m a coward.
An eight-hour road trip changed my mind. I could have listened to any number of authors, but what popped up? My second book, Deadly Recall, narrated by Maria Marquis.
I listened. What’s more I enjoyed every word and the hours flew by! Ms. Marquis www.mariagmarquis.com. did a wonderful job, and I can only apologize for not promoting her work earlier. Now that I’ve been converted, I’m off to listen to The Past Came Hunting narrated by Lisa Cordileone http://www.lisacordileone.com. Further, I just have to say the trailer for her production Freelancers Anonymous (2018) had me laughing out loud.
I like listening to books on road trips, but I rarely travel these days so I’ve gotten away from them. But now, while my husband listens endlessly to news programs, I’ve found earbuds and audio books are wonderful distractions that leave my hands free to do other things. Glad to know about your two, Donnell. Even though I’ve read the books, the audios give them a new perspective. I’ve listened to quite a few audiobooks several years after reading the novels. Great entertainment!
The ultimate escape, wouldn’t you say, Ellis? I agree! Thank you.
